Apr 22, 2014 · Just checked my 2000 Z3 Voltage on the battery with the engine not running is 12.65 - 12.70 volts. This indicates a good charge since a lead acid cell can generally be expected to charge to 2.1 volts on each cell. With the car running I get 14.25 - 14.30 volts to the battery. It makes no difference whether the engine is idling or revved.

Obviously, the larger engined model attracts most of the attention - but I'm sure this will filter down to the 2.0-litre eventually. To evaluate whether or not your example is worth investing in, do a full inspection of the car.
